Here's how Mid-Valley Harvest works

  1. Private land owners and commercial growers register fruits and vegetables online. Donations are tax deductible.
  2. As crops begin to ripen, Harvest Leaders contact the land owner, scout the site, and create a harvest sign up page.
  3. Individuals and groups that have registered can sign up for an available time slot (usually two hours).
  4. Emails are sent out to volunteers with the specific location of the harvest and any necessary instructions.
  5. On the day of the harvest, volunteers receive a short orientation from the Harvest Leader.
  6. After picking for their allotted time, volunteers take home up to half of the produce they harvested.
  7. The remainder of the harvest is donated to neighborhood food pantries.
